Cheltenham 2019: a Dalek breaks into GCHQ. However, the Doctor and friends arrive and between them defeat the Dalek. Six hours later the remains of the Dalek are being loaded up to be taken to a secret depository. En route, the driver stops off for a refill of his tea. However, after taking a drink of his tea the driver drops dead. The woman at the roadstop cafe shuts up shop, moves the body and drives off.

Some time later, Jack Robertson, Leo Rugazzi and Jo Patterson are meeting for the demonstration of a new initiative to deal with civil unrest. Police are under pressure and budgets for security are insufficient. Robertson and Rugazzi show their new security drone in action, quelling a group of rioters facing off against a police cordon: the drone is a Dalek. Armed with a water cannon, gas (harmless for the demo but in the field it will be CS gas) and a sonic deterrent it appears that the future might be a safer one, at least it will do if Jo Patterson gets into power.

Chapter Five
Survivors of the Flux

Mexico, 1904: three years after being stranded in the past Dan, Yaz and Jericho break into a tomb in order to locate a pot upon which is enscribed a clue that they must decode (before returning the pot and repairing the entrance to the tomb). In Constantinople, they ask an expert to decode the markings which should tell them the date they are seeking - getting as far as December 5th before the stall is destroyed in an explosion. Someone is determined to stop them from finding out the precise date for the end of the world.

The Doctor has been brought to Division: Awsok explains that Division was created on Gallifrey to protect the galaxy, as it grew so did the number of operatives, guiding and shaping events. Now its influence is unparalled and its reach unlimited. And so the Doctor begins to make horrifying discoveries about Division, the Flux and herself.

-

Chapter Six
The Vanquishers

As the Doctor tries to escape from Division, her friends find their way into the labyrinth of tunnels under Liverpool. Doors lead to different worlds and different times. The Sontarans have taken over Earth: sending out a message to the universe, offering all except the Rutans, an alliance. Will Earth become the seat of a new galactic empire, governed by the Sontarans, Daleks and Cybermen?
