His finger poised over a button, the Doctor ponders on the possibility that this might be the means by which he can rid himself of his two stowaways - Ian and Barbara. The Doctor presses the button: all four travellers are flung to the floor and the control room plunges into darkness.
One by one the travellers recover, but their memories are impaired. Unsure of who they are or how they come to be where they are, each tries to solve the mystery of recent events. As their memories return they begin to wonder about the nature of the threat that they are aware if approaching. Is it some force from outside the ship? Or is it something already inside...perhaps even one of the four travellers?
