The TARDIS materialises inside a space station in Earth's solar system. Harry's penchant for pressing buttons places Sarah in danger. Trying to sort out the situation, the Doctor discovers that something has bitten through a power cable. Repairing the damage, the Doctor re-activates a defense system which traps Harry and himself, and a transit system which processes Sarah.
When the Doctor and Harry finally deactivate the defense system they find that Sarah has gone. Searching for her, they find a vast hibernation bay in which a number of humans are sleeping. Among them is Sarah, but the Doctor does not know how to revive her. Fortunately, repairing the damaged systems has also activated the revivification process and some humans are re-awakening. With the help of Vira, a revived human, the Doctor restores Sarah. However, another problem has arisen. Something is interfering with the power systems of the space station. Could it be connected to the large creature found dead in a storage cupboard. Is there some connection between that and a missing technician?
When Noah, leader of the revived humans, becomes infected by the beings taking over the space station, the Doctor must find a way to defeat the aliens and save the humans on board.
