Every episode would begin with either a teaser or a reprise of the previous episode's cliffhanger ending. That would then be followed by a prologue which introduced us to the universe of Sapphire and Steel.
All irregularities will be handled by the forces controlling each dimension. Transuranic heavy elements may not be used where there is life. Medium atomic weights are available. Gold, Lead, Copper, Jet, Diamond, Radium, Sapphire, Silver and Steel. Sapphire and Steel have been assigned.
Out of the 34 episodes, only 5 (Assignment 4, episode 3 and all of Assignment 6) changed the introduction, replacing Lead with Mercury

The entire series reissued as a complete series box set, in Region 2, with previously trimmed scenes restored (from series 3 onwards, there were commercial breaks: the original video and DVD releases trimmed the break scenes out which resulted in some scenes being cut as the break titles appeared over footage; these have been restored - with the break titles too - comparison shorts to follow shortly). |
